ReCell ReCell is an innovative device engineered to maximise wound healing and enhance the cosmetic and functional characteristics of all skin types. Developed from technology used for the treatment of major burns, ReCell has been adapted to treat smaller epidermal defects in need of improved healing. ReCell can result in faster healing, without scar formation or altered pigmentation. ReCell enables the delivery of keratinocytes, melanocytes, fibroblasts and Langerhans cells harvested from the epidermal-dermal junction for application onto a wound surface. Basal cells from the epidermal-dermal junction are more conductive to migration and may assist in faster epithelialisation. Melanocyte repopulation may also result in the reintroduction of pigmentation into hypopigmented regions. Improve Healing Research demonstrates that wounds that heal rapidly are less likely to result in scars. Basal cells collected from the epidermal-dermal junction during ReCell processing are more conductive to migration and proliferation and may assist in faster epithelialisation. ReCell is a proven treatment in small burns, scalds, traumatic wounds and scars. ReCell is also being used by surgeons in conjunction with traditional forms of skin resurfacing. These include dermabration and laser ablation to enhance wound healing. ReCell can also be highly effective in enhancing the speed of wound healing (post resurfacing) and reducing post treatment erythema. Using ReCell to treat Hypopigmentation ReCell has also been used to successfully treat a number of forms of hypopigmentation including stable Vitiligo, sunspots and hypopigmented scars. This product is also used to prophylactically with other forms of resurfacing to reduce the risk of hypopigmentation following treatment. Research has demonstrated appropriate pigmentation of would beds when treated with ReCell. For further information, please visit the ReCell website www.recell.info |
